£5million stolen from cash deposit after masked robbers smuggled themselves into UNDER truck
- The robbery took place at the Slough Trading Estate in Berkshire on Wednesday
- Gang threatened employees and tied them up with zip ties, but no one was hurt
About £5million was stolen from a cash deposit after masked robbers successfully snuck under a lorry.
The daring robbery took place on Wednesday morning at a high-security warehouse where vans were loaded with money destined for morning deposit at banks and ATMs.
The gang threatened employees at the Slough Trading Estate in Berkshire and tied them up with zip ties before hitting several vehicles, the Mirror reports.
The thugs used angle grinders to carve their way through a metal fence, which provided them with an escape route through a neighboring property during their escape.
Although no one was injured in the robbery, the robbers, dressed in bulky clothing and headlamps, managed to escape in two vehicles.

Police would not confirm if the gang were armed during what is believed to be the biggest cash deposit heist since the £53million Securitas raid in Tonbridge, Kent, in 2006.
Thames Valley Police’s Serious Organized Crime Unit is now investigating the shock robbery.
Det Supt Kevin Brown said: “I urge anyone with information regarding this robbery to please come forward.
“While I understand this may be alarming, there is no evidence of a major threat to the public.”
Detectives and forensic teams were photographed at the scene on Thursday as vans from Northern Ireland-based firm Pivotal Cash Management lined the streets while officers stood guard.
Meanwhile, a truck was removed from the site by a heavy-duty recovery vehicle to be brought in for forensic testing.
Reporters at the scene found an angle grinder on the ground, while pictures show a blue tent was erected while the investigation continued.
A worker nearby – who wished to remain anonymous – told Der Spiegel that the police had been there since Wednesday.

Pivotal confirmed an incident had taken place but that none of their employees were injured
They added: “It appears the robbers went through a fence into a neighboring yard. The police say very little, they tell us nothing.’
A spokesman for Pivotal Group said: “We can confirm that an incident occurred at our facility in Slough yesterday morning.
“Our greatest concern is for our employees and while no one was physically injured, we are working to support their wellbeing.
“The police were notified immediately and we will continue to assist the authorities during the investigation.”
