The bizarre sight of a cow stuck on the roof of a gas station has left locals stunned and sparked an unusual rescue effort.
The fiberglass cow, which appeared to have been stolen from a nearby primary school weeks earlier, was spotted above the Vibe service station on Western Australia’s South Western Highway on Sunday.
Police and SES were called to the scene but didn’t have the tools to get the cattle down – nor how it got there in the first place.
Calls were made for anyone who could move the plastic animal as a small and confused crowd gathered at the gas station.
A local resident offered to use his cherry picker to bring it down.

In the operation, one man drove the picker while another tied the cow to the railing platform.
The cow was then lifted off the roof and slowly lowered the floor.
The cow known as “Moosli” was from a local elementary school and had disappeared weeks earlier.
A bystander claimed it was stolen from the school by thieves and placed on the roof.
“The cow was taken from the (school) garden by some people who obviously don’t care about our children,” they said The Western Australian.
“And now she’s down, which is nice, and she’s back, which is great. She can go back to school and get repainted.’
