The confrontation sparked anger among the other passengers and online.

“She’s disabled and you’re going to pull her like this?” a witness was heard asking.

SA Police told NCA NewsWire that patrols were called to Adelaide railway station just before 9pm on Saturday night following reports of a disruption on the train.

“Two people on the train were smoking and forced open the train doors. They were asked by security personnel to exit the train but refused to get off,” the spokesman said.

“Police were present and the couple still refused to get off the train and continued to act in a disorderly manner.

Police said the disabled woman, 47 of Ingle Farm, was given an adult warning for failing to follow instructions to exit a vehicle and resisting arrest.

A 43-year-old man from Ingle Farm was arrested and also cautioned for failing to follow instructions to exit a vehicle.

SA police say the officer’s actions were reasonable.

“The police officers’ body-worn footage has been reviewed and we believe their actions in response to this incident were both appropriate and reasonable.”
