A woman who had a flower seed in her cheek captures the moment it popped out

A woman who has had a marigold seed painfully lodged in her cheek has shared footage of the shocking moment it finally popped out of her salivary gland after three weeks.

Alexa Hendricks, 22, of Kentucky, went viral on TikTok after detailing how the particle became embedded in the inside of her cheek while eating a salad with edible flowers at Ruby’s in New York City earlier this month.

The influencer, who has more than 231,000 followers, posted her first storytime about the “crisis” on March 5, a few days after eating at the restaurant.

“If you look closely, you can see small flowers with similar stems,” she explained after sharing a picture of her meal.

The influencer explained in her TikTok video that she was eating an apple when her jaw started to hurt. She could feel the semen moving down as she pressed the outside of her cheek

The chilling footage showed the spicy semen slowly working its way out of her cheek

“So I ate the salad and was almost done. I still had a few bites left. All of a sudden I felt this stinging sensation in my cheek in my mouth.”

Hendricks said she used her tongue to feel the inside of her cheek and she could feel something sharp sticking out. As she tried to feel it with her finger, it went deeper into her cheek.

She went to the bathroom fearing she might have an allergic reaction because her cheek was swollen.

Hendricks included a photo of the inside of her mouth and said, “You can see there’s literally something on the side of my cheek.”

She noted that it hurt to eat or open her mouth wide and said she couldn’t sleep on that side of her face because of the pain.

After an uncomfortable few days, she went to a dentist who couldn’t feel or see anything during her exam. Confused, she referred her to an oral surgeon.

The doctor also couldn’t find anything in her cheek and suggested that her cheek might have been swollen from the trauma of the sting. He prescribed mouthwash and ibuprofen for the pain.

“Another update on my cheek situation. It’s gone back to my ear, and when I chew I feel a little pain and want to pinch my ear,” she said on March 10.

“I noticed that at dinner last night and then every meal I had today. Maybe it will work out?’

Hendricks later admitted she canceled her follow-up appointment with the oral surgeon to go to the beach with her boyfriend, Samuel.

She said the swelling had gone down and she began to doubt there was anything in her cheek.

TikTok users kept asking for updates, but she had nothing new to share until March 22, when marigold seed worked its way out of her cheek while she was in the car with her boyfriend.

Hendricks first spoke about her “crisis” in a clip posted March 5.

Hendricks went to the restaurant’s bathroom because she was concerned she was having an allergic reaction because her cheek was swollen

“It literally came out of my cheek,” she said, holding the seed up for the camera.

Hendricks explained that she was eating an apple when her jaw suddenly started to hurt.

As she pressed the outside of her cheek, she could feel the semen moving until it finally came out of her parotid gland.

‘Oh! I just got it out,” she told her boyfriend as he filmed the moment. ‘Oh dear God. That was in my cheek. I told you, there’s something in there! I knew it, brother.”

The video has been viewed more than 4.5 million times and over 1,600 people shared their opinions in the comments.

“God the relief must be incredible,” one person wrote.

“I’m so glad it worked out!” another added. ‘I hope you saved it to show the restaurant. You deserve some kind of compensation.”

Hendricks said she began to doubt there was anything in her cheek until the semen popped out while she was in the car

Adding that the restaurant pays her medical bills, Hendricks said, “They’re really on point and wanted to make things right.”

“You don’t understand how satisfying this is for us,” shared another.

People also had many questions for Hendricks, who defended her dentist and doctor, saying they believed her but couldn’t find the seed.

She also shared that she spoke to someone from the restaurant about the edible flower because she didn’t want the same thing to happen to anyone else.

Hendricks recalled the employee profusely apologizing, but reassuring him it was an “unusual accident.”

She added that the restaurant pays her medical bills, and she’s also been offered free merchandise and a boozy brunch with friends next time she’s in town.

“They are really on point and wanted to make things right, so I was very grateful for that,” she said.

“And their food was amazing like I said in my previous videos so I’m super excited to be back. I just won’t get anything with edible flowers if that’s an option.
