A young woman is found dead in a Sydney home with horrific injuries

A 31-year-old woman was found dead at a home in western Sydney.

Emergency services were called to a home in Cranebrook on Sunday afternoon and found a woman with serious injuries who was pronounced dead at the scene.

NSW Police officers set up a crime scene and have launched an investigation with the help of the State Crime Command Homicide Unit.

Police were told the woman did not live in the home but was known to residents.

Detectives are reaching out to anyone who has observed suspicious behavior in the area or has information that could aid their investigation.
