New York Jets fans were quick to blame Aaron Rodgers’ season-ending injury on YouTube boxer Jake Paul after the quarterback was diagnosed with a ruptured Achilles tendon.

Rodgers, a four-time league MVP who was traded to New York from the Green Bay Packers in April, suffered the long-term injury just minutes after his long-awaited Jets debut against the Buffalo Bills on the first edition of Monday Night Football.

The Jets ultimately won the game in overtime, but Rodgers was on the field for just four snaps after landing awkwardly on his left ankle following a tackle by Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd.

The 39-year-old was unable to get back to his feet without help from the medical team and was limping as he left the pitch. It has since been confirmed that he will not play again this season.

Now, pregame footage shows Paul greeting the quarterback, and fans are absolutely convinced that the influencer predetermined Rodgers in their exchange.

“I saw the way Aaron Rodgers handled Jake Paul during warmups and I knew something was going to go wrong,” one fan posted on X.

Another fan said: “Jake Paul touched Aaron Rodgers and now Aaron Rodgers is out for the season. “If that doesn’t clearly say Jake Paul is POISION then I don’t know what does.”

One fan even went so far as to say, “All I saw was Betr co-founder Jake Paul looking suspiciously at Rodgers Achilles as he walked away.”

“All I’m saying is Aaron Rodgers was fine until he touched Jake Paul,” tweeted another.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jets head coach Robert Saleh not only reiterated the fact that Zach Wilson would be the starting quarterback, but also sternly stated, “I don’t know why people are trying to publish an obituary under our name .”’

Wilson had been the Jets’ starter for the past few years, but was demoted to backup duty after a miserable season that led to NY trading for Rodgers in NFL history of the summer.

The plan for the 2021 No. 2 overall pick was to learn from Rodgers this season. However, that plan quickly fell apart when a sack by Bills DE Leonard Floyd quickly changed the course of the Jets’ history.

However, there is a chance Wilson could return to his mentee role next season, as Rodgers recently vowed on Instagram to “step up once again.”

Rodgers’ words appeared to indicate that he plans to return next season once his Achilles has recovered rather than retire due to the injury.
