NFL star Aaron Rodgers praised Novak Djokovic for his anti-vax attitude while watching the tennis star in action at Sunday night’s US Open.
New York Jets quarterback Rodgers posted a picture of Djokovic preparing to serve on his Instagram Story and wrote: “#NovaxDjokovic” with a red crossed out promotion for Moderna.
He continued: “An absolute must to be able to experience the greatness of @djokernole in person at Arthur Ashe Stadium.”

Djokovic even missed the US Open last year because he was unable to enter the US due to his vaccination status. But in May, the government lifted its requirement for all travelers entering the United States to be vaccinated.

Djokovic defeated Croatian Borna Gojo in straight sets on Sunday night and advanced to the quarterfinals where he meets American Taylor Fritz.
The Serb has spoken on numerous occasions about how grateful he is to be back in New York, but stresses that he has no regrets about missing out on last year’s competition.
“I don’t regret that. “I’m just happy to be back,” he told CNN ahead of the tournament.
“I’ve had a lot of success on American soil with Indian Wells, Miami, of course Canada and here, [I’ve] He’s won many times at those Masters 1,000 events, all of them. Of course, the US Open is also the highlight of the hard court season. I’m just excited.’
Rodgers, meanwhile, is gearing up for his first NFL season with the Jets. His first game with his new team is on September 11 against the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium.
The 39-year-old has had many controversies of his own regarding his vaccination status.
In August 2021, Rodgers told the media that he was “immunized” against the virus but would later miss a Green Bay Packers game because of Covid, leading him to admit that he was not vaccinated.
Rodgers later said during an appearance on The Joe Rogan podcast, “I was prepared for that question the whole time and was thinking about how I was going to answer it.”

Rodgers has been open about his own vaccination status, but there was still controversy haunting him

There is a lot of excitement surrounding Rodgers and his first season with the New York Jets
“And I had come to the conclusion that I’m going to say, ‘I’ve been vaccinated.’ And if there’s a follow-up, talk about my trial.
“But I thought there’s a chance I’ll say ‘I’m vaccinated,’ maybe they understand what that means, maybe they don’t.” Maybe they follow.
“You didn’t go any further. Then I go into the season and I think – some of them – that I’m vaccinated.
“Because the only follow-up they asked for was basically asking me to tease my teammates like, ‘What do you say to your teammates who aren’t vaccinated?’ What example do you think you are setting for your teammates who are not vaccinated?’ I said, ‘Hey, it’s an individual’s choice about their body.’”
