Amanda Holden reveals she drinks sherry at 10am on Christmas Day and ‘gets up before the kids’

She was seen enjoying a glass of bubbly in the morning after finishing The Heart FM Breakfast Show earlier this week.

And Amanda Holden has revealed the festive spirit means she starts drinking earlier in the day and has a sherry at 10am every Christmas.

The 51-year-old presenter added that she loves the day so much, she “gets up before the kids” to get things started.

Speaking to The Sun, the mother of two described her anticipation for the annual leave.

“I get up before my kids. I love giving gifts to other people and that’s what Christmas is all about for me,” she explained.

Amanda shares daughters Lexi, 16, and Hollie, 10, with her record producer husband Chris Hughes.

She continued, “But my favorite thing to do is cook lunch with my mum and drink sherry at 10am.”

And it seems to have come earlier this year for Amanda, who finished presenting duties on Heart FM’s breakfast show this week.

She donned a light pink sequined jumpsuit to celebrate and enjoyed a glass of champagne after the morning show around 10am.

The star took to Instagram to share the glamorous ensemble with her 1.8million followers and posted a video in slow motion while tossing her hair.

‘Merry christmas to you all. Thanks for the love, support and good mood!! Love you all,” the mother-of-two wrote over the clip.

She and co-host Jamie Theakston showed they were in the festive spirit earlier this week by recreating scenes from Christmas movies including Bridget Jones’ Diary, The Holiday and Elf in Heart Breakfast’s ’12 Scenes of Christmas’.

Amanda has channeled characters including Amanda Woods (Cameron Diaz) from The Holiday, Cindy Lou Who from How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) from Bridget Jones’ Diary.

Meanwhile, Jamie has starred in festive films, including Scrooge from A Christmas Carol, The Snowman from the film of the same name, and Buddy’s adoptive father Bob Newhart (James Caan) from Elf.

In one scene, Jamie and Amanda were re-enacting the movie “Santa Claus” and when Jamie, dressed as Scott Calvin, yelled, “Hey, get down there,” Santa fell to the ground.

Amanda, disguised as Charlie Calvin, his son, then walked up to him and shouted, “It’s Santa, you killed him!”
