An NYPD sergeant is accused of pulling a cop’s ponytail at the precinct

An NYPD officer claims her female supervisor pulled her ponytail inside her Queens precinct and injured herself to warn her in the latest scandal to rock New York’s best.

Officer Christine Meisner says that Sgt. Nakia Middleton-House told her, “You tie your hair in a bun, or a perpetrator could do that,” according to the New York Post.

The incident reportedly happened on Jan. 11 at the 109th Precinct station house in Flushing.

Meisner, 29, said in her complaint that the hair pulling aggravated a previous neck injury that Middleton-House, 48, knew about. After tearing, Meisner required medical attention.

This isn’t the first time Middleton house has stepped out of line. In 2018, she was fined after using a police database for unofficial dealings, records show.

The punishment was “unrelated to the performance of their duties or official business of the department.” Middleton-House lost 10 days of vacation after investigation.

Her case was featured in a ProPublica article as an example of the NYPD using lost vacation days as a preferred punishment method.

The sergeant is a 17-year veteran of the NYPD, while Meisner joined the force in 2017. In 2020, Middleton-House tried to start a side business selling fake eyelashes called Bossy Blinkz. The company’s website is no longer active.

Public records show that Middleton-House made $160,000 last year. She has been in the 109th district since September 2022. Previously, the sergeant was in the 104th and 70th districts.

The incident comes a month after two NYPD rookies were discovered perking up in an academy restroom.

Javon Latibeaudiere, 26, and Madelin Ramirez Solano, 21, are said to be in an ongoing relationship but they were bringing her to work when other recruits caught them in a booth.

The pair have been in the police academy since July, with Latibeaudiere having previously served in the Marines.

The NYPD said in a statement at the time: “Both officers are suspended. The matter is being investigated internally.’

According to the New York Post, NYPD vets are fed up with some of the shenanigans being flaunted by the new recruits.

An anonymous police officer said: “These recruits are not afraid or care about being caught breaking the rules.”

Another sneered: “That’s what we’re recruiting for now.”

Meanwhile, Vera Mekuli, 27, the rookie cop who gave her boss a lap dance at a Christmas party in 2021, shows no sign of focusing on her work.

Mekuli shared pictures of her dressed up as the Joker’s girlfriend in December with the caption: “Trouble never looked so good”.

She posed for the shoot with makeup to resemble the character and an oversized hammer, which the character often uses to attack her opponent.

Lt. Nick McGarry was demoted to transit office for allowing the junior officer to drag him after that infamous Christmas party.

Mekuli earns $42,500 a year. She previously worked as a real estate agent in the Bronx.

On her LinkedIn page, she describes herself as a “highly motivated and goal-oriented person”.
