Andrew Tate’s social media account explains that “Matrix attacked me” after reports he may have been “taken to hospital” after arriving in prison

  • The Tate brothers were arrested last week on rape and human trafficking charges
  • Andrew today shared a link to a Romanian news article reporting on a hospital visit
  • In an ambiguous tweet, the 36-year-old said: “The Matrix attacked me”
  • It’s unclear which brother was taken to hospital, but both are back in custody

Andrew Tate tweeted a link to a Romanian article saying one of the influencer brothers was hospitalized – adding that the “Matrix attacked me”.

Tate, a British citizen and former professional kickboxer who has amassed 4.4 million followers on Twitter, is currently being held in Romania with brother Tristan.

They were arrested last week as part of ongoing investigations into rape and human trafficking.

Tate today shared a link to Romanian news website Spy News, which reports that one of the brothers was taken to hospital in custody after a routine medical check-up.

In an ambiguous tweet, the 36-year-old said: “The Matrix attacked me. But they misunderstand, you can’t kill an idea. Hard to kill.’

One of the brothers reportedly informed a medical professional about a pre-existing health problem, which led to a consultation at a Bucharest hospital.

They are now back in a detention center, the website reports.

It comes after four more luxury vehicles were seized as part of the probe into the social media personality earlier this week.

Prosecutors investigating the case seized the additional vehicles in addition to 11 others seized in raids last week, said Ramona Bolla, a spokeswoman for Romania’s anti-organized crime agency DIICOTs.

At least seven of the confiscated vehicles – which some local media reports are limited editions worth up to $300,000 – are registered to Tate and his brother Tristan, who were arrested in the same case last week, she said.

Some of the other vehicles are either unregistered or undocumented.

Bolla also said the investigation so far has seized more than 10 properties or properties owned by companies registered with the Tate brothers.

Among the cars seized by authorities are a Rolls-Royce Wraith from the automaker’s Black Badge range and an Aston Martin Vanquish S Ultimate, both featured in videos Tate posted online.

Two other female suspects – Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu – were also taken into custody in Bucharest on December 29 on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organized criminal group.

They have denied all allegations, and Tate representative Avocat Vidineac Eugen Constatin said they would appeal the judge’s decision.

DIICOTs said in a statement last week that they have identified six victims who were subjected to “acts of physical violence and psychological coercion” and sexually exploited by group members.

The agency said two British nationals in the case had lured victims into engaging in pornographic acts aimed at gaining “important financial benefits” under the pretense of love and later intimidation, constant surveillance and other control tactics.

All four suspects are expected to appear in a Bucharest court next week to hear their appeals against a judge’s decision last week to extend their arrest warrants from 24 hours to 30 days, Bolla said.

The Tate brothers will also appear in court next week to appeal the confiscation of some of their belongings.
