Angry progressives clash with conservatives at a California school board meeting

Chaos erupted at a school meeting attended by conservative and progressive parents this week when a woman reportedly told a black man to “leave the country” after he criticized the board’s decision to scrap critical race theory.

The riots at the Southern California school assembly came without warning on Wednesday, and Temecula Valley Unified School District chief executive Joseph Komrosky ordered the angry man removed.

However, the decision was promptly dismissed by those present – as well as a fellow Komrosky board member – when they questioned why the man was booted solely for expressing outrage at the alleged verbal attack.

Parents from both sides of the political spectrum clashed in a frantic demonstration, with members of the public angrily chanting “do your job” to board members – who recently voted to hire an “anti-CRT consultant” with taxpayer funds.

Footage taken by those present shows much of the disturbance with members of the overwhelmed board seen from their seats as the event turned into a frenzy.

Eventually, the CEO would give in to the pressure—the order Woman is also said to be responsible for the racial slur outside the premises.

The incident began when the man, identified by the board as “Deon,” took the podium to express his displeasure at the district’s December decision to allocate $15,000 in taxpayer dollars to meetings with anti-CRT advisors .

Deon criticized the maneuver as “idiotic” and used his allotted time to decipher the board – citing how “[CRT] is not even taught in a K-12 classroom in the US.’

“Your continued blatant, willful ignorance of the black experience in this country is not only shameful but detrimental to our children’s education and growth,” Deon said in a calm but passionate manner.

“It’s disappointing to see people having a problem with history classes,” he added.

“It is widely recognized by the vast majority of experts that introducing CRT into the K-12 classroom is as erroneous as introducing calculus into the first grade classroom. No idea is viable or credible.’

First greeted with applause as he was about to sit down, Deon said he heard the snide remark a woman in the audience who can be seen in some footage but has yet to be identified.

According to Deon, who angrily repeated her alleged words, the woman had told him to “leave the country”.

The offensive barb is not heard in any footage of the event, although board member Steven Schwartz later confirmed to Newsweek that the woman “made a comment that he should leave the country.”

“He reacted to them and the audience got angry.”

Members of the board did not witness the interaction at the time as they were seated several dozen feet from the designated space where members of the public were allowed to speak.

When Deon reacted angrily at the woman on his way back to his seat, board members gave him a “first warning” that if we engaged in another outburst again, he would be escorted out of the auditorium.

The warning was delivered by Komrosky, who moments later carried out his threat and demanded that security remove the man as he continued to protest the woman’s alleged behavior.

‘If I think like that, why don’t I leave the country?’ He can be heard in several clips circulating on social media about the altercation that quickly led to the degeneration.

“She said, ‘Get out of the country,'” Deon is heard saying after being reprimanded by the district official. “She told me to leave the country.”

He added angrily while pointing to the unidentified woman in her seat: “My family has been here since August 16, 1619.”

Following this claim, Komrosky, who was obviously suspicious given the contentious nature of the meeting’s subject matter, asked the man to be escorted out of the building.

The order was promptly met with outrage, and the crowd erupted in shouts and chants.

Noting the burgeoning commotion as the man was taken away by security forces, Komrosky replied, “If you wish, the entire auditorium can leave.”

Members of the public could be heard shouting, “Take the woman [out instead]’ and ‘Do your job’ – a violent reaction that was broadcast live on the district’s official YouTube channel

Board member Allison Barclay would also express dislike at her colleagues’ decision seconds before a confused Komrosky ordered an immediate suspension.

“I disagree. If that woman said that to him, she needs to be apologized for,” Barclay said.

But members of the crowd stayed and eventually clashed with each other in a series of recorded incidents watched by thousands online.

Finally, amid the outspoken backlash, the woman Deon had pointed out was also removed, in a clip that also circulated on social media.

Speaking to Newsweek, Schwarz recalled the excitement that ensued when police were forced to step in when members of both camps chanted and insulted one another.

“The meeting descended into chaos and the CEO declared a break,” he explained.

“It was a sad day to see our community in our district so divided over what was such a minor issue being invented to advance a political agenda and distract from our true work of providing quality education and learning in our award winning district schools.’
