Annastacia Palaszczuk took a private flight to attend the opening of a museum during deadly floods in Queensland last year.

The Prime Minister sipped champagne and mingled with guests at the February 25 opening of the $36.5 million Rockhampton Museum of Art.

She made the trip as the south-eastern part of her state and northern NSW were experiencing one of their worst flooding events in history, which killed 22 people.

At least one resident had been found dead after his car was swept away in flood waters, while 10 were missing in Queensland when Ms Palaszczuk made the trip.

Since then, ministerial interest registers have come to light showing the Prime Minister traveled to Rockhampton on a private flight owned by millionaire Bevan Slattery.

Liberal MP Jarrod Bleijie said Ms Palaszczuk had “lost the conspiracy” and “showed no heed to the issues that matter most to Queenslanders”.

A woman’s body had also been found after her car was swept away by floodwaters in Belli Park while emergency services searched for 10 missing residents.

“It is indeed a tragedy. Please, I can’t stress this enough, don’t take any chances”, Ms. Palaszczuk.

“This has the potential to become a significant rainfall event for southeast Queensland. Southeast Queensland will also experience a month of rain in some areas.’

A spokeswoman for her office told Daily Mail Australia the Prime Minister still went on her trip despite the wild weather, as it had been organized two weeks earlier.

“Art is an important part of regional tourism and culture and the Rockhampton Museum of Art houses one of Australia’s finest regional art collections,” they said.

“The prime minister has always acted on the advice of the emergency services.

“As indicated in the PM’s published diaries, on Friday the PM chaired two weather briefings with relevant ministers and emergency services via conference call and held a separate conference call with the Minister for Emergency Services.

“The Premier chaired seven weather briefings on Saturday as the weather continued to deteriorate.”

At least two days before Ms Palaszczuk flew to Rockhampton, emergency services had recovered the body of a woman and were searching for 10 missing people.
