Apex Expert Identifies “Overpowered” Weapon For Hardcore Royale

Apex Legends’ Hardcore Royale, the game’s answer to Call of Duty’s hardcore mode, was released alongside the Celestial Sunrise Collection event. Despite the mode being designed to challenge even the toughest players, an Apex expert has singled out a weapon that could dominate the games.

Hardcore Royale is a bit of a double-edged sword. Your opponents only have a white shield and no helmets, meaning they’re easier to defeat, but so are you. Players must move quickly and stay alert to take down enemies quickly while taking as little damage as possible.

The mode has only been available for a hot minute, but players have already struggled to establish their tactics. Apex Legends expert The Gaming Merchant believes they’ve identified an “overpowered” weapon that offers the biggest advantage in the new mode.

Although Hardcore Royale leaves players with very limited defenses, dishing out one-shot kills is difficult. Most players will survive a few bullet rounds here and there. But without helmets, all players are much more vulnerable to headshots.

In fact, there are a few weapons that can take out a player with a single headshot. According to The Gaming Merchant, the best weapon in this case is the Sentinel.

With an accurate headshot, the Sentinel deals a base damage of 176. Enough to eliminate one player at a time. You have to be accurate, and it’s likely that most players in Hardcore Royale miss more shots than they hit. But perfect your tactics and you could easily clean up the match.

If the Sentinel isn’t your style, The Gaming Merchant says that both the Wingman and Longbow are excellent options as well.

So if you’re confident in your sniping skills, give the Sentinel a try next time you encounter Hardcore Royale.
