Apex Legends Dev Footage Apparently Leaks New Pathfinder Passive

Pathfinder could be set to get a new passive after Apex Legends dev footage surfaced during a livestream.

A long-established recon legend for many in Apex Legends, Pathfinder often has a healthy look in pick rates. Armed with the tactical Grappling Hook and the Zipline Gun Ultimate, players have found many ways to use Pathfinder effectively.

The problem, however, was his passive. The Forward Scout’s current passive ability, Insider Knowledge, allows Pathfinder to scan a survey fire to reduce Zipline Gun’s cooldown by 10 seconds. Essentially, this ability comes in handy after you’ve depleted Pathfinder’s Ultimate and need a quick charge without an Ultimate Accelerant. Other than that, it serves little purpose compared to the passives of some other Legends.

Cue Pathfinder fans asking Respawn to offer a new Legendary passive. And if the latest footage is what we think, that request will be granted sooner rather than later.

When presenting the Season 15 Broken Moon map during a dev stream, a developer used Pathfinder. Players soon noticed that the Pathfinder in the test build was significantly faster on its zip lines and had a slightly different user interface.

Apex YouTuber Bobz highlighted the footage on his channel and hinted that the changes could be coming in Season 16.

Now, it should be noted that the information came via a developer’s test build, which means there’s no guarantee the passive (if it’s a passive at all) will make its way into the game. The new ability could even just be a buff for the Legend Ultimate.

Respawn hasn’t announced any changes to Pathfinder in terms of his abilities yet, and since he’s a popular choice, they may be reluctant to make drastic changes.
