Apex Legends developers point out more changes after adding private matches

After the latest Spellbound Collection event update, the developers seem to have announced more changes for Apex Legends.

Apex Legends’ latest update, the Spellbound Collection Event, will see the return of the popular LTM Control and add some new legendary cosmetics. But probably the biggest innovation is the highly requested function for private games.

For private games or tournament games, you can invite up to 60 players and five observers to a standard game. There are no experience points or progression for these games, so they are just for fun. Cross-play must also be enabled for the feature to work.

It’s been a long time coming, but Apex fans can finally host their own tournaments without worrying about coincidences disrupting the game. And it seems that the developers have even more to offer.

Josh Medina, Senior Producer at Respawn Entertainment, made some cryptic references to further updates to Apex.

“Say hello to my @mike_durn, @JustinMasse, @Hellhavens and all the other amazing people who helped make Private Matches a reality for everyone.” he tweeted.

“This is a good starter for 2023. Stay tuned for what’s next.”

Of course, the developers didn’t elaborate on what’s to come, but fans were quick to throw in their own speculation.

“Massive W. If cross-progression is next, 2023 is the year of Apex,” said one user.

It’s unclear what Respawn has in store for the rest of the year, but they’re certainly off to a great start.
