Apex Legends Leak reveals how the gift system could work

Season 15 of Apex Legends, “Eclipse,” scheduled to launch on November 1st, will mark the debut of new, long-awaited features, including a new map. However, what is most awaited is the implementation of a gift system after gift-related logos and icons were discovered by a data miner in the game’s files.

Made famous by Fortnite, gifting items and cosmetics has become a common feature for players in online games. As reported by Dexerto, Apex Legends Design Director Evan Nikolich mentioned during a press conference that a gifting system is something that is “currently being actively worked on.” However, Nikolich subsequently alluded to the system still being in development, adding, “…We want it to be something that’s celebrated and that people enjoy. We want to make sure it doesn’t feel cheap or shabby.”

However, another report from Dexerto states that after the 14.1 update, more details about leaker KralRindo’s gift system were discovered in the game’s files.

The visible lines of code appear to be similar to the gifts feature in Fortnite, where players can send gifts to anyone on their friends list. Following this leak, fans have debated whether this system implies that give away from your own inventory possible, or if the gifting system would also include the ability to trade with other players.

While the exact launch hasn’t been announced, leakers believe the appearance of these lines of code indicates the gifting system is on the way and likely to be released with Season 15.
