Apex Legends Loot Ball becomes an insta-kill in New Glitch

The normally harmless Loot Ball in Apex Legends has been wreaking havoc in recent Apex matches.

Collecting loot in Apex Legends is usually a fairly simple activity. With plenty of ways to prepare for a match, most players simply seek out loot, pick it up, and then go about their day. But a video has surfaced on Reddit of a strange new bug affecting the Loot Ball in Apex Legends, where players aren’t quite getting away with the loot like they should.

In the clip, user bigdealmo can be seen shooting the ball out of the sky and dropping it onto the platform below. But instead of collecting the loot, the player drops dead instead.

The kill was initiated by attacking the ball with a melee attack. The user joked that the Loot Ball is now “deadlier than a Kraber” sniper rifle.

According to others in the thread, the bug may not be as widespread as first thought. “I’ve seen this many times and it always involves these moving bridges,” said user bellonj1.

“If you open it in melee while the bridge is moving, you will die. I doubt this will be fixed as it is extremely situational and has been going on for a long time.”

Another user said, “It’s the moveable bridge that OP cuts into the ball and registers that it’s critically stuck, which is resolved with a crush death…”

“In short, don’t hit cargo bots on moving things.”
