Apex Legends players smash the “boring” ranked split in Season 15

Apex Legends developers have responded to criticism of the current 76-day “boring” ladder split.

The leaderboard appeals to the Apex player looking for a tougher challenge compared to the usual public matches. Players compete against players of similar skills, all competing for RP to level up through the tier system.

The current ranked season is expected to end on January 17th, bringing the total number of running days to 76. Typically, ranked seasons last between 45 and 50 days. The long running time of this season has caused frustration for many players.

“Props to anyone still grinding the Apex Rankings daily”, Apex Pro Nelson “Xeratricky” Medina said on Twitter. “This mode is beyond boring at this point. Please don’t ever do a 75 day split again or whatever that was.”

Responding to Xeratricky’s concerns about the split length, Apex Legends Senior Producer Josh Medina said, “Right now, I don’t think we’ll be doing that in the future.”

Other players were quick to voice other changes they hope to see in the future of Rank: “What about rotating cards on a timer, Josh. Talk to us about it, that seems like a thing we all want now,” said one user.

While it’s unclear what Respawn has in store in terms of leaderboards going forward, at least fans can rest assured they won’t be thrust into a grind fest.
