Personal terms are not expected to be an issue as Mudryk has made clear his desire to join Arsenal.

The two clubs are trying to find common ground on how to structure a deal. Namely the proportion of add-ons and whether these can be fulfilled by Mudryk.

Arsenal’s first two offers were rejected and there were fears Chelsea could scupper their move to Mudryk, Mikel Arteta’s main target in January.

Sources claim Chelsea remain in talks with Shakhtar but Arsenal have always appeared in pole position due to Mudryk’s clear desire to move to north London.

Following Monday night’s FA Cup win over Oxford United, Arsenal boss Arteta reiterated his desire to bring in attacking reinforcements from Gabriel Jesus following injury.

“The problem is that we only have one striker and it’s not easy to get through so many months until Gabby is back,” he said.

“But we have to get the best out of the players we have at the moment. If we can have some reinforcements, great.”
