Arsenal face charges from the FA for failing to get their players under control in injury time of their fiery clash with Newcastle… after manager Mikel Arteta said officials denying his side two penalties were “scandalous”.
Arsenal have been accused of failing to get their players under control in Tuesday’s heated FA draw against Newcastle.
A host of Gunners stars furiously confronted referee Andy Madley after he failed to award them what they saw as two clear penalties in the goalless tie at the Emirates, while furious manager Mikel Arteta called the referee “scandalous”.
And the Football Association of England announced the charges in an official statement on Friday.

Arsenal have been accused by the FA of not having their players under control against Newcastle
It read: “Arsenal FC have been charged with breaching FA Rule E20.1 following their Premier League game against Newcastle United FC on Tuesday 3 January 2023.
“It is alleged that Arsenal failed to ensure proper behavior from their players in the 95th minute and the club have until Tuesday 10 January 2023 to respond.”
