Arsenal star Bukayo Saka receives his first-ever Premier League Player of the Month award

Bukayo Saka was named Premier League Player of the Month in March.

Arsenal tweeted their congratulations to the 21-year-old star who has played a key role for the Gunners in their quest for Premier League glory.

Arsenal won all four league games in March, with an in-form Saka scoring three goals and catching two assists for Mikel Arteta’s side.

It is the first time Saka has won this award while becoming the second Arsenal player to snag the gong this season after Martin Odegaard received the joint November/December award.

Saka is now the 22nd Gunners player to receive the accolade, the highest of any club in Premier League history, according to the Arsenal website.

The 21-year-old scored three goals and made two for Gunner’s teammate Gabriel Martinelli

The 21-year-old scored the opening goal in the 4-0 win against Everton in early March and set up Gabriel Martinelli for the second.

A brace in Arsenal’s 4-1 win over Crystal Palace in the Emirates, coupled with another Martinelli line-up, saw Saka record double-digit goals and assists in the top flight this season.

Arsenal team-mate Leandro Trossard was also nominated for the award after receiving five assists in March.

Aston Villa’s Tyrone Mings, Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister, Liverpool’s Mo Salah and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak were also shortlisted.

Arsenal start April with a home game against Leeds United on Saturday.
