But not everyone was ready to call it a night of partying long after the sun had risen.
Hundreds were still partying on Sunday morning after heading to Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach to enjoy the first sunrise of 2023.
While some slept in their big night, others stripped and headed into the surf for an early morning swim.
