Barbie Movie Teaser: Margot Robbie is a bombshell in a black and white swimsuit

The first-ever Barbie movie teaser was shared early Friday morning.

Margot Robbie is spotted as Barbie in a black and white swimsuit with sexy open heels on the beach. She is larger than life when young children stare at her and throw away their baby dolls while gazing at the new fabulous bomb.

And Ryan Gosling as Ken also makes an appearance, seen in a black top and headband with friends around him.

There is also a glimpse into the wonderful plastic world of Barbie.

The blonde looks out over a pink town that resembles the noisy Barbie toys sold in the 1980s, like the pink-and-white townhouses and convertible cars that bared the tacky cotton candy paint.

And in another scene, Barbie is seen in a metallic outfit while dancing in a club.

Margot as giant swimsuit Barbie on a secluded beach is a twist on the imposing monolith in the classic film 2001: A Space Odyssey, and the sci-fi film’s soundtrack is also used to convey that Barbie is a mysterious new marvel.

The clip ends quickly without much plot implied.

The teaser was first shown Thursday night during a sneak preview of Avatar: The Way of Water.

The kids love it: the little kids, dressed in drab clothes and holding baby dolls, immediately took hold of the sexy plastic Barbie and reverently touched her legs

Fans were quite surprised when they found the first trailer for Barbie attached.

News of the Barbie trailer accompanying Thursday’s screenings of the Avatar sequel quickly spread across social media, though fans were also disappointed that the trailer wasn’t fully available online just yet.

However, Warner Bros. Pictures confirmed on Twitter that the teaser trailer will be live on Friday, although that still didn’t reassure fans who wanted to see it now.

Images from the film have already been shared.

Robbie was spotted in blue as she sits in her pink convertible with a home behind her. And Gosling as Ken was spotted in neon pink.

The film will be released in July 2023 by Greta Gerwig.

In November, Gerwig said she was concerned the Barbie film could end her career.

The Little Women filmmaker was keen to work with Robbie, who had secured the rights to the story, but Greta admitted she feared the film would be a terrible mistake.

Speaking to Dua Lipa on the At Your Service podcast, Greta, 39, said: “It was exciting because it was terrifying. I think that was a big part of it, like, “Oh, no, Barbie.”

“It felt like a vertigo when I started writing it, like, ‘Where do you even start and what would the story be?’ And I think it was that feeling that I got, because I knew it was going to be a really interesting terror. Usually the best stuff is where you say, “I’m scared of that.” Anything where you say, “This could be career ending” — then you say, “I probably should do it.”

And Margot, 32, has insisted the film will surprise people.

She previously said: “Something like Barbie, where the IP, the name itself, people immediately have an idea, ‘Oh, Margot is playing Barbie, I know what that is’, but our goal is to be: ‘Whatever you’ think about, we’re going to give you something completely different – the one you didn’t know you wanted.
