Barcelona’s Gavi showed he has learned the darker side of his midfield role at the Nou Camp by beating Dani Ceballos during El Clasico.
The LaLiga leaders extended their lead at the top of the table with a win over arch-rivals on Sunday, putting Barcelona 12 points clear of Real Madrid.
Sergi Roberto equalized Ronald Areujo’s own goal in the ninth minute before Franck Kessie struck the winner for Xavi’s men two minutes into injury time.
The victory means that a title win for the Catalans now seems all but inevitable, but alongside the three points, Barca fans also loved the sight of their teenage midfielder tucked into Madrid midfielder Ceballos.
In a moment when the ball fell away, Ceballos Barca forward Robert Lewandowski appeared to attack and Gavi then took matters into his own hands.

The 18-year-old charged into his Spanish team-mate, sending the former Arsenal player down in a clash that went unnoticed by the referee.
Real Madrid fans demanded that Gavi be shown the red card for the shove, but the Barcelona number six went unpunished for the incident.
It’s not the first time the two Spaniards have clashed on the pitch. The pair previously worked together when the famous rivals met in January’s Spanish Supercup final.
Ceballos came on later and Madrid were 3-0 down. Ceballos grabbed Gavi by the hair and sparked a dispute between players from both clubs.

Barcelona won the game 3-1 thanks to goals from Pedri, Lewandowski and Gavi himself, while Xavi’s side continue to dominate Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season.
Ironically, it won’t be one of them either before Gavi and Ceballos meet again as both are named in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad for this week’s Euro 2024 qualifiers.
Spain host Norway on Saturday before continuing at Hampden Park next Tuesday to face Scotland, which also includes Georgia and Cyprus, in Group A.
