BBC’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt enjoy a cheeky pint and smoke after work

BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt were in high spirits as they took a trip to their local pub in Manchester after work on Monday.

The presenters enjoyed a well-deserved pint while smoking a cigarette outside the venue.

Charlie, 60, cut a casual figure in a khaki green jacket and matching tee, teamed with black jeans.

Meanwhile Naga, 48, wrapped up in a black North Face jacket with jeans and knee high boots.

The pair looked relaxed as they chatted after a busy week helping raise funds for Comic Relief.

Viewers joked Ofcom will have a “field day” with complaints after BBC breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty swore live on air.

The annual telethon returned to screens on Friday night and broadcasters had to read a series of cheeky jokes from a card.

However, TV presenter Naga, 48, made a slight mistake and ended up saying a rather rude word as she told a classic joke.

She said: “I was at the zoo the other day and there was only one dog in there. It was a Shih Tzu.”

After telling the joke, her co-star Charlie Stayt got the amusing joke right away, but Naga was confused.

She proceeded to tell Charlie that she didn’t get the joke, but when she finally got it, she laughed and repeated the word “Shih Tzu.”

Viewers then rushed to comment to share their thoughts on the aftermath of the innocent joke.

One viewer commented: “Oop some kind of swear word before 9pm Ofcom going to have a big day with complaints lmao.”

Another viewer said, “Naga doesn’t get the Shih Tzu joke.”

David Tennant, AJ Odudu, Joel Dommett, Zoe Ball and Paddy McGuinness were in attendance and hosted the telethon.

Throughout the show, viewers watched some fun short comedy sketches from The Traitors, The Apprentice, Eastenders and more.

A few celebrities including Gordon Ramsay, Jamie Dornan and Ed Sheeran also made appearances during the telethon.

Naga’s classic swear joke is coming live after BBC Breakfast presenter Charlie recently stole Naga’s word and her expertise.

The hosts were again caught arguing live on air as the duo competed when they disagreed on how a six-foot-tall jockey, Jack Andrews, would compare to his smaller competitors at Cheltenham.

As he read from Jack’s statement, he said, “He says, ‘When you’re little, sometimes you get on horseback, and they can overpower you.’

“While you’re a big boy you can mistreat a horse.”

He then said to Naga, “So the much smaller jockey would sit on top of the horse while he can wrap his legs further around the horse.”

Naga then stared at Charlie in confusion before commenting, “I’m not sure it would be really comfortable to wrap your legs around the girth of a horse while it’s galloping at who knows how many miles per hour.”

She added: “When you gallop you should be on top of the horse. You can’t just sit on the horse and push around.”

And while Naga spoke, Charlie cut her off and drank in on her expertise.

He said: “I think what I’m going to do is take what Jack Andrews, the jockey, has to say about your expertise in this area.”

He added another jibe by saying, “That’s all I’m saying. I think he probably knows what he’s talking about.”
