President Joe Biden again declined on Friday to pay tribute to the grandchild born of a relationship between son Hunter and Lunden Roberts, this time at an event celebrating a blockbuster achievement in women’s sports.
The President spoke about athletes in his own family while celebrating the Louisiana State University NCAA basketball championship team that the team and its star Angel Reese were behind.
He said “all the real athletes” in his own family are women.
“It’s really nice to see you as I have four granddaughters where we had some pretty good athletes.” I wasn’t a bad athlete. It wasn’t my brothers. “All the real athletes in that family were women,” he said.
Biden has seven grandchildren, five of whom are girls. The fifth, Navy Joan, is Hunter’s daughter. Hunter and her mother are involved in a court battle over child support.

He was already paying child support after a DNA test, but argued in court that there had been a “significant significant change” in his finances.
Roberts is a former stripper who reportedly won a $2.5 million settlement from Hunter after she sued him in court in 2019. Their affair together in 2017 coincided with a time when Hunter said he was struggling with drugs and alcohol.
The remark came at an event that was interrupted when Sa’Myah Smith, a newcomer to the team, fainted amid Biden’s remarks.
“She’s fine — that happens a lot,” Biden reassured while a paramedic arrived to attend to the situation.

He and first lady Jill Biden gushed about the team and its star after Jill Biden’s remark about inviting both LSU and her losing rival Iowa to the table sparked an online dispute with Reese.
The game reached nearly 10 million viewers.
“We saw hope, we saw pride, we saw purpose,” Biden said. He also joked with Reese, saying that she should play one-on-one at the White House with her cousin Jordan Hawkins, a member of the University of Connecticut’s winning men’s team.
Biden also failed to acknowledge his seventh grandchild during Bring Your Child to Work Day at the White House.
“I have six grandchildren. And I’m crazy about them. And I talk to them every day. “No joke,” he said.
