Block viewers slam Scott Cam for fueling a two-participant ‘gossip group’: ‘He sounded petty and pathetic’
On Monday night’s episode of The Block, host Scott Cam invited the winners to a private meet-up to enjoy a few drinks.
Winners Leah and Ash joined Scott at a small country inn in Kyneton so they could get some advice for the rest of the competition.
However, some viewers were disappointed when the meeting devolved into a “gossip session” about the other participants – and this was apparently fueled by the moderator.
It all started with Scott saying he was working with contestants Steph and Gian and that they were “confident.”
Leah, who clashed with contestant Steph throughout the competition, agreed, adding, “Oh yeah, I think she nails absolutely everyone’s style.”

The moderator was intrigued by this comment and then asked, ‘Really?’ Tell me more!’
Then things got a little awkward as Ash replied, “She’s got acquired taste, Steph.” She’s like one [redacted] Cocktail.’
Leah then said the five other couples in the competition were “strange.”
She said, “That’s the thing.” We’re stuck down a rabbit hole, you’ve got five weird couples — and I don’t mean strangers, I just mean weird — and we all live together. You can’t all be best friends.’

Winners Leah and Ash joined Scott at a small country inn in Kyneton where they could listen to his brains and get advice for the rest of the competition. However, some viewers were disappointed when the meeting turned into a “gossip session” about the other participants – and this was apparently fueled by the moderator (all pictured).
Laughing at the couple’s comments about the other contestants, Scott added, “This is fantastic, love the rumours.”
However, he did let Leah and Ash know he wouldn’t relay their comments to the other couples, adding, “And what happens at Scotty dinner, stays at Scotty dinner.”
Many viewers took to social media to express their disgust for Scotty and gossip about the couple.
One person wrote: “He was really embarrassing!” “He sounded petty and pathetic.”
While another said: “Had some respect for Scotty… but it went out the window.” He sold his soul to the ratings… why should he even be happy about Ash and Leah’s bullying!’

Laughing at the couple’s comments about the other contestants, Scott added, “This is fantastic, love the gossip.”
And a third commented, “So they have dinner with Scotty where they get to choose his brains and all they’re going to do is bitch about everyone else on the show…fine!”
Other viewers felt the presenter owed the other contestants an apology for fueling the gossip.
“I would be disappointed if Scott Cam doesn’t apologize for encouraging Leah and Ash’s bad behavior,” one viewer wrote.
“You can’t be friends with everyone, but you can be polite and neutral, and as a host, that’s your job.” Disappointing.’
