Bobby Wagner agrees to return to Seattle Seahawks on a one-year, $7 million contract

Six-time All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner agrees to return to the Seattle Seahawks on a one-year, $7 million contract after being fired by division rivals Los Angeles Rams
The Seahawks have agreed on a deal to bring All-Pro linebacker Bobby Wagner back to Seattle, according to multiple reports.
Wagner’s contract is said to be a one-year deal worth $7 million.
News of Wagner’s signing was first broken by his new teammate, Seahawks safety guard Quandre Diggs.
Wagner confirmed the news in a text to NFL Networks’ Ian Rapoport, saying, “Happy to be back.”
He was released by Seattle last offseason to make room before a preseason rebuild before signing a five-year, $65 million deal with the Rams.

Wagner won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks against the Broncos to close out the 2013 season
Now, less than a full year after Wagner signed that deal, it has been released by the Rams, who desperately needed cap space ahead of their own rebuilding year.
The 32-year-old linebacker won a Super Bowl ring in 2013 in his second season in the league with the Seahawks.
Wagner currently holds the record as Seattle’s all-time franchise leader in tackles with 1,383, and he’s sure to take that up now that he’ll be back in town next season.
During his only season in LA, Wagner recorded 140 total tackles, six sacks and two interceptions.
The return to the Seahawks will not only fill the huge void Seattle had in middle linebacker, but also bring together two of the league’s best tacklers as three-time Pro Bowl safety Jamal Adams.
Adams hung up for most of last season after suffering a season-ending quad injury in the first game of the year.
Seattle will also be armed with two first-round picks in this year’s NFL draft thanks to last year’s trade by quarterback Russell Wilson, which gave the team the No. 5 draft pick that originally would have belonged to the Denver Broncos.
The Seahawks also have their own first-round pick, which is earmarked for pick #20, giving them an opportunity to add two potentially influential players in April.
