Bono’s daughters Eve and Jordan recall their father ‘taking us to school in his dressing gown’

He is best known as the frontman of U2.

But Bono is also a loving father of four; Jordan, 21, Elijah, 23, Eve, 31, and Jordan, 33, – who have fond memories of growing up with the musician.

In a new interview, his daughter’s Eve and Jordan recalled how her dad “took us to school in his robe” and embarrassed her by singing along for the Backstreet Boys.

Bono shares his four children with wife Ali, with whom he tied the knot in 1982 before welcoming their brood.

And speaking to The Times, Eve and Jordan looked back fondly on their famous upbringing – which saw them touring with the band.

The couple, who described it as “intense,” grew up accompanying Bono on the ride in the early days of Bono’s massive success.

But it wasn’t all fame and glam, as they explained to the publication that their parents were trying to keep life “as normal as possible.”

“Dad used to take us to school in his robes, God bless him,” Jordan recalled.

She continued; “Once we were stuck in traffic on Rock Road and he got out of the car and started dancing in traffic to the Backstreet Boys. Shameful then, but now I commend him for it.

Touching on life on the road as a youngster, Jordan went on to say that it was “an adventure” but also difficult to constantly “share” with your father.

U2 formed in 1976 when Bono joined The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr to form the group.

With just two years between Bono’s two oldest children, the sister duo are inseparable – with Eve admitting they are “in love” with each other.

The couple described their younger brothers, who were born about ten years after the duo, as “Hewson A and Hewson B”, being the former themselves.

But despite the gap, the family is known to be close-knit, with six even living together during the Covid-19 pandemic.
