The third season of Netflix hit Bridgerton is thrown into chaos as show bosses scrap the “very dark” storyline after concerns were raised over a sex plot.
Bridgerton’s next series was thrown into chaos after bosses thought some of the storylines had gotten “too dark”.
Sources working on the Netflix bonkbuster production say some of the scripts have had to be rewritten as Shonda Rhimes, the show’s producer, wants to bring viewers more enjoyment.
It is understood there were concerns about a sex act.

A source told The Mail on Sunday: “Filming has been delayed because the screenwriter was not happy with the direction.
“We’ve been told it needs the fun back so there are changes, which of course means delays. One thing is for sure though, the production team wants to please Bridgerton fans so they can enjoy it just as much as they have in the past.
“There are some elements that Shonda is just not happy with and that she wants to change. Some of it got very dark.”

In the new series, Phoebe Dynevor will return as Daphne, the eldest daughter of the Bridgerton family.
It will be based on the fourth book in the series, titled Romancing Mister Bridgerton, and will follow the budding romance between Penelope – played by Nicola Coughlan – and Colin Bridgerton.
The couple will embark on a journey that will take them from friends to lovers.
Jonathan Bailey will also reprise his role as Anthony, Claudia Jessie is back as Eloise, Luke Thompson as Benedict and Ruth Gemmell as Lady Violet Bridgerton.
