BRIT Awards 2023: Mo Gilligan is announced for his second year as host

Mo Gilligan will return as host for the 2023 BRIT Awards.

The 34-year-old comedian, returning to the top spot for a second year, will host the ceremony on February 11 at the O2 Arena.

Mo was announced as BRIT host on Tuesday, ahead of Thursday’s list of 2023 nominations.

Masked Dancer judge Mo said: “Hosting the BRITs last year was one of the most phenomenal moments of my life.

“I’m so honored to meet the incredible team behind music’s biggest night and so proud to bring our amazing audience even closer to their favorite artists. I promise we’re going to be even bigger this year… Let’s go.’

The 2023 BRIT Awards nominations will be announced later this week via an exclusive live stream on the official BRITs channels, hosted by TV and radio broadcaster Vick Hope alongside radio host and alternative music champion Jack Saunders.

Vick and Jack have also enlisted the help of a team of celebrities to help announce this year’s key categories.

Olympic champion Tom Daley, YouTube’s Yung Filly, Euro 2022 winner Jill Scott and Gogglebox’s Joe and George Baggs are among the names announcing this year’s nominations via their own social channels.

The celebrities were given locked BRITs boxes for safekeeping before revealing their categories on the day of the live stream. You can follow their progress over the next week with @BRITs.

This year, the BRIT Awards were designed by Slawn, the Nigerian-born, London-based artist known for his large-scale canvases filled with a mix of caricature-like pop characters and bold colorful shapes.

Meanwhile, R&B girl group FLO have already been announced as winners of the 2023 Rising Star Award, celebrating another rising star in British music.

The BRIT Awards 2023 with Mastercard will take place on Saturday 11 February – the first time in its history that the show has taken place on a Saturday – and will be broadcast live on ITV1 and ITVX from the O2 Arena.
