Challenge star Ryan Gallagher celebrates New Year’s with throwback photo

Ryan Gallagher has ushered in the new year with a throwback to his finest moment on ‘the greatest television show in history’.

The Challenge star, 34, shared a picture from Channel Ten’s reality TV show of him laughing with girlfriend Emily Seebohm.

He sparked a romance with the 30-year-old Olympic swimmer after meeting her on the series and recalled the moment in an Instagram post on Saturday.

“This year I was part of the biggest TV show in history with record ratings, what a year! Happy New Year everyone!’ he wrote in the caption.

It comes just weeks after Seebohm revealed she is “in love” with Gallagher after the couple announced their romance on their respective Instagram accounts.

Gallagher shared a picture of the lovebirds snuggled together, captioned with a love heart eye emoji.

The athlete also shared a photo of the couple standing close together on a balcony.

Following the post, Seebohm opened up about the relationship, revealing it was platonic on the show but they’ve been “inseparable” ever since.

“After the show we both met in Argentina and decided to go traveling together and yeah we’ve been kind of inseparable since the show,” said the gold medalist.

“I’m super happy. I know I didn’t win the show, but I definitely feel like I won…We say it’s love,” she continued.

Things seem to be going so well between Seebohm and the former Married At First Sight star that they were overheard discussing wedding plans, according to a recent report.

Seebohm is said to have worn a ring on her engagement finger on a recent night out in Melbourne with Gallagher.

Guests at an event “overheard the couple discuss wedding plans for next year,” reports The Herald Sun.

The couple told the newspaper they kept their romance a secret for months because they were “not supposed to say anything” about starring in The Challenge together.

“Eventually we made it and uploaded our own photo. We just did it, it’s our relationship and there’s nothing negative about it,” Gallagher explained.
