Channel 7 was blown away by the quality of the AFL grand final as fans faced crashes and lag on football’s biggest day: “7Plus is the North Melbourne of the streaming game”

Channel 7 was attacked by footy fans during the AFL Grand Final, with viewers forced to experience crashes, lag and buffering on the broadcaster’s streaming service 7PLUS.

The broadcaster has exclusive rights to the decider between the Brisbane Lions and Collingwood Magpies at the MCG.

However, fans streaming the game on the 7PLUS platform have reported crashes, lag and longer buffering times – even on high-speed internet connections.

“7plus is SO late,” one fan complained.

‘7Plus is the North Melbourne of the streaming game. What the fuck, guys?! “I can’t get the biggest sporting event of the year on my phone,” wrote another.

“It’s wonderful that it’s 2023, I have a 250 Mbps cable connection and the 7plus app is still so bad that I can’t really see the ball.”

Some supporters have abandoned the platform entirely.

“Okay 7plus, it’s time for me to watch the game the way God intended.” “On the AFL results update page,” wrote one bored supporter.

Others pointed out that the 7PLUS platform worked fine, only the AFL coverage crashed.

“It’s not like 7plus is down because I can certainly see Million Dollar Listing,” one angry supporter posted.

And many pointed out that this isn’t the first time streaming platform Channel 7 has let them down.
