Chase viewers were furious when Anne Hegerty was given an “unfair” advantage over the contestant

Chase viewers were furious after Anne gave Hegerty an “unfair” advantage with one of the questions she was asked.
On last night’s episode of the hit ITV show, contestant Amit, from Flintshire, Wales, was in contention for the jackpot.
During his one-on-one match against The Governess, the cop was questioned on everything from the global economy to popular music.
One of the final questions of the panel was based on another hit ITV series.
Bradley asked the contestant, “Which comedian came second to Harry Redknapp on the 2018 series I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here?”
The three possible answers Amit could choose from were Jo Brand, Roisin Conaty and Emily Atack.
After some deliberation, Amit chose Emily Atack as his final answer.
At first, Bradley agreed, saying, “It has to be, right?”
But then doubts crossed his mind – and the presenter added: “Or did she win on her own?”
Amit then replied, “Now that you said that, I’m not so sure anymore.”
Amit’s teammate Abby offered her support from the sidelines, exclaiming, “I think she was in the same series as Harry.”
Although Amit was relieved that he had asked the question correctly, he was disappointed to hear that Anne had answered correctly as well.
The Governess – who actually appeared in that exact series – then listed the order in which the contestants finished that year.

Bradley Walsh said he “objected” the question after it was revealed Anne had appeared on the same series

Anne Hegerty – nicknamed “The Governess” on The Chase – said the questions were given “at random”.

Outraged viewers took pity on Amit after Anne was asked the “unfair” question – which affected her series “I’m a celebrity… Get me out of here!”
She said: “Harry Redknapp won, Emily Atack second, John Barrowman third and then Fleur East and then.” [James Brittain-McVey]and then Nick Knowles and I.’
After Bradley’s face sagged, Anne asked, “Have you forgotten my year?”
Anne tried to comfort Amit, adding: “The questions just come out randomly, I can’t help it!”
Bradley waved his hand in the air and jokingly called out to the producers backstage and said, “Objection!” Objection!
“A question about a show Anne was actually on?!” We weren’t there! We do not know it.’

Anne Hegerty envisioned completing a bushtucker challenge with Harry Redknapp, who later won the series
Amit pleaded his case, saying, “I wasn’t there!”
But then the pursuer ended the conversation with the words: “It’s good that you still did it right!”
However, the “unfair” question didn’t sit well with viewers at home – who took to Twitter to express their outrage.
One ranted: “That’s hardly fair.” Another added: “A no-brainer for Anne.”
Meanwhile, a third said: “Of course she’s doing it right!”
During an appearance on This Morning in December 2018, Anne revealed that one of her co-stars on The Chase encouraged her to sign on to I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
She said, “I discussed it with Mark.” [Labbett]. First he said there wasn’t enough money in the world.
“Then my agent said [producers] I wanted to take you out to lunch because you take care of a few other things and were absolutely delightful. I thought I could actually do it.’
She continued, ‘Then it took almost a month to sort it all out.’ Mark got back and said you really should do it.’
