Brian Turner has revealed he was hospitalized after suffering a stroke last summer and has thanked the “amazing” medical staff who looked after him.

The 76-year-old chef brought viewers to tears when he shared his recent health issues during an appearance on James Martins Saturday Morning.

James, who refers to Brian as his “TV dad,” introduced the Ready Steady Cook star and the two began cooking a meal together.

But before they started cooking, James reminded Brian he wanted something on the air, and Brian then revealed he had one stroke in June.

Prompting Brian, James said, “First of all, you want to say thank you, there’s the camera, because you haven’t been very well lately.”

Brian then shared he was recovering after being hospitalized with a stroke last summer and apologized to viewers if he “stammered” during the segment.

He revealed: “Yes unfortunately I had a stroke in June this year and the people at London Hospital have been fantastic and supportive. So excuse me if I stammer occasionally, but we’ll catch up in the end.’

A supportive James gushed: “It’s fine, it’s fine. i love you boy So a round of applause for everyone who took care of you. It’s a pleasure to have you back, you are always welcome.’

After his appearance on the cooking show over the weekend, emotional viewers took to Twitter to admit they were brought to tears by his revelation as they praised James for his “support”.
