Noni Madueke gave Chelsea fans a glimpse of his exciting potential with a player on the game board in England Under-21s’ win over France.
The 21-year-old joined Stamford Bridge from PSV in January but has so far been little used by Graham Potter as he tries to navigate Chelsea’s bloated squad.
He has made four appearances for the Blues so far this season but has done enough to retain his place in Lee Carsley’s England Under-21 squad.
Madueke started the match against France on the bench, entered the fight in the 66th minute and performed so well that he was awarded the Player of the Match award.
Madueke doubled England’s lead with a smart finish 13 minutes from time, before setting up goals for Curtis Jones and Jacob Ramsey in the second half as the young Lions raged.

The Chelsea striker scored once and provided two assists in England Under-21s’ 4-0 win over France
It was a show that had Chelsea fans pumped with excitement about what is to come from the young star, and they took to Twitter to get lyrical about the attacker.
“Madueke the future is bright,” said one fan, while another shared the same sentiment, saying, “Noni Madueke is actually so good, I hope he has a great future with us.”
One Blues supporter even went so far as to say that Madueke goes unnoticed at Stamford Bridge, tweeting: “Noni Maudeke will go under the radar at Chelsea Football Club. We have an absolute super talent and can hardly wait for him to start regularly. ‘
Another said “Some performance from Madueke”, but one fan feared what could happen to the striker once he’s back at Chelsea and under Potter.
‘Madueke changes the game for England off the bench but watch Potter Gallagher come on in the 66th minute to defend a 1-0 lead.’ The poster sarcastically tweeted.
The 4-0 win was an impressive performance for Carsley’s young side against a top-flight French side.
They meet Croatia on Tuesday, their last game before the Under-21 Championship kicks off in June, as England begin their campaign against the Czech Republic.
