‘We might have to activate that buyout clause!’: Chelsea fans rave about Denis Zakaria’s incredible footwork to stun TWO Man City players as they urge the Blues to sign the ‘special’ midfielder on a permanent basis
- Chelsea’s Denis Zakaria put in an incredible performance against Man City
- His fancy footwork capped off a very impressive display from the midfielder
- Chelsea fans are now desperate for the club to sign him permanently
- Zakaria is currently on loan from Juventus until the end of the season
Chelsea fans have urged the club to sign Denis Zakaria on a permanent basis after his incredible performance in his side’s 1-0 defeat by Manchester City on Thursday.
While Graham Potter’s side looked for a late equalizer, Zakaria found himself surrounded by two City players in his own half but managed to get out of the tight spot with some flamboyant footwork.
After a quick one-two with Mateo Kovacic, Zakaria had Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne coming his way, but he improvised his way out of trouble, producing a bold step-over and then a drag-back to get away from both men before they ping an inch-perfect pass to the left wing.

His striking ability in the 88th minute capped a fine performance and fans have seen enough to convince them that Chelsea should pay Juventus £30m to sign him permanently when his loan expires in the summer.
“We may have to activate the buyout clause for Zakaria,” one fan tweeted alongside a video of his incredible footwork.
Another supporter agreed, writing: “He’s actually special. I’ll be really mad if we don’t sign him.’

Meanwhile, one fan simply added: “Permanent contract please.”
Despite Zakaria’s skills, Chelsea lost the game, remaining 10 points behind fourth-placed Manchester United.
It’s been a disappointing season for the Blues so far and one fan believes the team needs more players like Zakaria to challenge again at the top of the table.
‘Zakaria MOTM. What an achievement. Combat, heart, skill and mind. If we can have 10 more of these along with a manager we will be fine,” they wrote.

Arriving from Italy on deadline last year, Zakaria was used sparingly in the first half of the season.
Since domestic football resumed after the World Cup, he has started to establish himself in the squad and one supporter believes Zakaria’s improvement in form is bad news for team-mate Jorginho.
“I know that when Zakaria starts playing, Jorginho will stop playing. My boy is a baller,” they claimed.
