His statement reads: “It’s time to say goodbye. In these two seasons I have probably experienced the most intense moments of my still young football career. I’ve grown as a player, but also as a man.

“Thank you Foxes fan(s) for your kindness and constant support, even in the moments when you have been led to believe I disrespect the club. I will never forget how we vibrated, cheered or cried together… I will never forget you.

“I have chosen not to communicate during this transfer window, despite all the criticism and all the often false and misleading comments, even if they came from the club. I understood and learned.

“I didn’t want to damage the image of the institution and I decided to take it instead of answering. I thank Top (Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha) for his understanding, thanks to the managers, the coach who has always appreciated me even if he has been embarrassing me a lot lately…I have it coach.

Fofana called his words

Calling his words “false and misleading”, Fofana said: “The manager has chosen to expose me a lot.”

“Thank you to the staff for their trust, advice and of course support throughout my injury and recovery. There have been ups and downs, but I’ve never cheated, you can be sure of that.

“Thanks to all the people who work here every day, you are the soul of this club! Finally, thanks to my teammates, my brothers, the Foxes soldiers. We’ll see each other again, on a soccer field or somewhere else #PourEux #lcfc #LaWestt.’
