CNN host admits Biden’s family receiving more than $1 million in Chinese cash doesn’t ‘look good’

CNN anchor Erin Burnett has admitted evidence that members of President Biden’s family received over $1 million from various accounts linked to son Hunter’s Chinese business partners “doesn’t look good” for the First -Family.
During a recent episode of CNN’s ‘Erin Burnett OutFront,’ the host touched on subpoenaed financial records obtained by the House Oversight Committee.
Records show money was funneled from the president’s troubled son to several members of the Biden clan, including James Biden and Beau Biden’s widow, Hallie Biden.
Burnett brought up the subpoenaed financial documents showing Hunter’s business partner passed funds to several of his family members, along with Just Security co-editor Ryan Goodman.
She said any layperson would think China’s severance payments “don’t look good”.

However, Goodman said that in all likelihood nothing “legally harmful” would emerge from the records, although they could depict “possibly unethical” conduct.
“When I look at all of the facts claimed in the four-page memo, it looks potentially unethical. But it’s difficult to connect it to any illegality or crime,” Goodman said.
Goodman also noted that the payments could look like “sway trading” between foreign assets and the Bidens, something some Republicans have warned for years that might be the case, but again noted that he sees nothing illegal at play.
CNN only recently began reporting on Hunter Biden’s alleged corrupt behavior, and in January published its own report on the Biden family’s questionable ethics for the first time — more than two years after the New York Post first reported on Hunter’s laptop.
The House Oversight Committee, headed by Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, has subpoenaed more than a decade of bank records while investigating the Biden family.
They’ve focused on Hunter Biden’s associate, John R. Walker, for questioning him after years of trawling through his bank records and uncovering a $35,000 payment to Hallie Biden, Beau Biden’s widow.
GOP results said Walker received a US$3 million remittance from Chinese State Energy HK Limited, a company associated with CEFC China Energy, and then distributed US$1.3 million to accounts associated with members associated with the Biden family.
Hunter Biden and Joe’s brother Jim were the others who received part of the money.
Comer wrote to Walker that the panel “investigated President Biden’s involvement in his family’s business practices” and “identified you as a critical witness in the matter and reviewed evidence showing you received millions of dollars sold by a Chinese energy companies and elsewhere”.

The White House hit back after Republicans subpoenaed bank filings and released documents allegedly showing Hallie Biden received a $1.3 million cash cut from China. Beau Biden’s widow was identified Thursday as the third member of the first family involved in Rep. James Comer’s investigation into allegations they used their names to profit from business deals

Hallie Biden, seen here with Beau Biden, received $35,000 from Biden employee John Robinson Walker, according to Rep. James Comer. Comer, who has subpoenaed bank information as House Oversight chairman, says Walker’s firm received $3 million from a Chinese firm in 2017

Democrats were furious Thursday at Comer’s public campaign, with the White House calling it an “assault” on the president’s daughter-in-law.
A spokesman for Hunter Biden’s legal team has blasted the revelations as old news – and said the funds transferred to Hallie Biden were part of “cost-sharing”. Hunter previously admitted he was in a relationship with her at the time.
“Here we go again as Rep. Comer takes something old and tries to make it new by wrapping it in a wild and baseless right wing conspiracy,” the spokeswoman said in a statement provided to DailyMail.com .
“Hunter Biden, a private individual with every right to pursue his own business endeavors, has joined several business partners to seek a joint venture with a legitimate, privately held energy company in China. As part of this joint venture, Hunter received his share of bona fide entry fees, which he shared with his uncle James Biden and Hallie Biden, who he was dating at the time, and shared the costs. The accounts so dramatically listed by Rep. Comer belonged to Hunter, his uncle and Hallie — no one else,” the spokeswoman said.
The White House has previously denied any involvement by President Biden in his family’s business practices.
On Friday, President Joe Biden dismissed reports that his family accepted $1 million in Chinese funds.
“That’s not true,” Biden said when asked about it as he left the White House to spend the weekend at his home in Wilmington, Del.
