Coleen Rooney wears her injured foot in an air boot while shopping in Cheshire

Coleen Rooney looked casual Thursday as she stepped out in Cheshire as her “Wagatha Christie” defamation trial against Rebekah Vardy continued.

Former footballer Wayne’s wife, 35, has been wearing an air boot on her foot since she sustained a fracture at home last month.

Coleen slipped into a pair of slim-fitting black leggings and a zip-front fleece as she walked out despite her injured foot.

Coleen got makeup done for her outing as she flaunted her incredible complexion and pulled her brunette locks back in a practical ponytail.

She seemed to be on the mend, leaving her crutches at home and walking cautiously in her boot.

On the other hand, Coleen donned a pair of comfy black and charcoal running shoes and carried a bottle of water ahead of her busy day.

Coleen’s outing comes as Rebekah Vardy said she had “nothing to hide” ahead of her upcoming libel trial against Coleen.

Coleen accused Rebekah of leaking “fake stories” about her personal life to the media in October 2019 after undergoing months of “stab surgery.”

She was nicknamed “Wagatha Christie” when she publicly claimed her fellow footballer’s wife shared fake stories she posted on her personal Instagram account with The Sun newspaper.

Rebekah, who is married to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, denies the allegations and is suing Coleen for defamation.

At a preliminary hearing on Wednesday, Coleen’s attorney, David Sherborne, asked that some documents from News Group Newspapers – the publisher of The Sun – be disclosed.

Sun editor Victoria Newton, Showbiz editor Amy Brookbanks and seven other colleagues should have expected all of their electronic communications to be forensically analyzed while Coleen’s team searches for evidence.

The judge, Mrs. Justice Steyn, granted Coleen’s News Group Newspapers disclosure request, but only with respect to communications between Rebekah and her agent Caroline Watt and Sun journalist Andrew Halls.

The judge said Andrew was the author of one of the “so-called spike articles” appearing in the defamation dispute and concluded the disclosure was “necessary” and “proportionate” in relation to the journalist.

She said she was “not convinced” legal tests had been met to allow disclosure regarding an additional eight journalists and told the court she would fully reason her decision at a later date.

Mr Sherborne claimed disclosure related to Rebekah’s litigation was struck by “a series of unfortunate events” meaning the request for information from the journalists was a “last resort”.

“She is between a rock and a hard place to obtain the documents needed to fairly dispose of her claim,” Mr Sherborne added.

The attorney later claimed this included Rebekah’s expert downloading her data for review, but then he “forgot the password he used to encrypt the material and he can’t remember it.”

However, Sara Mansoori QC, for Rebekah, later said there had been a “corruption issue” with the password.

Adam Wolanski QC, representing News Group Newspapers, described Coleen’s offer of disclosure by The Sun’s journalists as a “fishing expedition”.

Hugh Tomlinson QC, also for Rebekah, said she was “critically neutral” on the documents request.

“Rebekah Vardy has nothing to hide,” he told the court.
