Comic Relief viewers SLAM BBC over ‘uncomfortable’ David Walliams sketch – following his BGT exit

Comic Relief viewers felt “uncomfortable” after a sketch starring David Walliams during Friday’s show.

That night, a slew of celebs helped raise a staggering £31million for charity with comedy specials and musical performances.

However, when 51-year-old David slipped into a form-fitting leather outfit as he pretended to audition for Eurovision, viewers were far from impressed.

In this segment, stars from Bucks Fizz to Gordon Ramsay tried their luck in front of judges Graham Norton, Lulu and last year’s winner Sam Ryder.

And David chose to dance to Eye Of The Tiger in his tight attire before covering himself in confetti.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “I’m so uncomfortable with David Walliams on my screen”.

While another wrote in reference to his scandal-plagued BGT exit: “When his audition is over we should whisper all the obscenities about him to each other”.

A third said: “#RedNoseDay no reason why was David Walliams there? Read the room beasts’.

It comes after David left the ITV show ahead of its 2023 series and was replaced by former strict judge Bruno Tonioli, 67.

It came after he was forced to apologize for calling an older contestant a “C***” and making vile sexual comments about a participating woman.

The comments, made during the London Palladium auditions in January 2020, were recorded by the program’s microphones and released in December 2022.

During the audition, an older cast member chatted with the judges, in which he made fun of Walliams. After the audition, the pensioner left, after which Walliams is said to have referred to him as “C***” three times.

In another instance, after a contestant who auditioned for the same show left the stage, Walliams remarked, “She’s like that kind of boring girl you meet at the pub and you think you want to fuck her, but you do.” it doesn’t… It’s the last thing on your mind but she’s like, “Yeah, I bet you do!” ‘

When asked directly if she was “Team David,” she replied, “Of course I’m Team David.

Simon, 63, wasn’t so forthcoming when asked about his fellow judge in an interview with The Daily Star.

When asked about David’s behavior, Simon replied, “Can’t we go there? If you are okay with that.”

He also insisted the judges weren’t key to the show’s success, musing, “I think for me the most important thing — and I had this conversation the other day. It’s always about the talent.

“If you don’t have great talent, you don’t have a show,” he said. “That’s all I care about.”
