The footage showed the local character being forced to the ground by two officers in the Queen Victoria Building, giving him a bloodied face and a black eye.
Mr. Lim suffered brain hemorrhage from the fall and needs constant medical attention and a cane.
He said he’s lucky to be alive and still feels he has a lot of work ahead of him.
“Sometimes I’m having a hard time, I get dizzy and I get headaches, I don’t have any mental or physical energy, but I don’t want to just stay at home,” Mr Lim told The Daily Telegraph.
Mr Lim unsuccessfully ran for Parliament in 2019 and has yet to secure nominations and candidates for election this time.
If successful, the activist from Sydney could become the first independent ever to be elected to the upper house of parliament.
He vowed to make “positive changes” while laying down the “broken promises” of ex-Prime Minister Gladys Berejiklian and her successor Dominic Perrottet.

“The system doesn’t work for a lot of people,” Mr. Lim said.
“My purpose is to encourage others to get involved, be brave, and create destiny with an open mind and an open heart.”
Mr. Lim promised to bring more openness, transparency and accountability to state politics.
Free dental care, affordable housing and legalized marijuana are among his campaign promises.
Mr Lim said he is still recovering from the brutal arrest in November but would not let his symptoms hold him back.
