A bus passenger was reportedly stabbed in Sydney, prompting an urgent police manhunt.

Rescue workers were called to a bus that had stopped on Flinders Street in Darlinghurst around 12.40pm on Saturday, where they found the 35-year-old with stab wounds.

It is believed that the attacker was unknown to the man and then fled on foot, prompting a police manhunt

The 35-year-old was treated by paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers located a crime scene and following inquiries, a 19-year-old man was arrested at nearby Belmore Park in Haymarket around 1.15pm.

A knife was also secured and the 19-year-old is helping the officers with the investigation.
