David Beckham, Patrick Mahomes and Serena Williams paid tribute to what may be football’s greatest-ever Tom Brady after the legendary quarterback, 45, announced his retirement for the second time, just a year to the day after his first in 2022.
Mahomes, who guided the Kansas City Chiefs past the Cincinnati Bengals to play in Super Bowl LIVII over the weekend, responded to Brady’s Instagram post announcing he’s finally finally retiring by posting an emoji of a goat shared, which to him means the seven-time Super Bowl winner is the “greatest of all time.”
Ex-England captain David Beckham was also quick to show his appreciation for Brady, commenting: “We love you man @tombrady” along with a heart emoji. The two know each other well from their stays in Florida. Brady was recently the starting quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while Beckham is a co-owner of MLS club Inter Miami CF.
Tennis legend Serena Williams, who retired in September after an illustrious 27-year career in which she won 73 singles titles, joked in her reaction to Brady’s decision: “It brings tears to my eyes to see this. sad to see you go Welcome to the world of retirement… Once again.”
Australian actor and Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman commented: “It’s been a sensational career. Say the least! Further. Dear HJ.’

After 22 NFL seasons and coming out of retirement, Tom Brady has officially quit
Derek Jeter, a five-time World Series champion with the New York Yankees, responded with a simple comment most NFL fans would agree with: “Congratulations @TomBrady on an incredible career. It was fun to watch!’
Olympic legend and former competitive swimmer Michael Phelps, who won 23 gold medals representing the US in Athens, Beijing, London and Rio, also shared an emoji of a goat, similar to Mahomes, to congratulate Brady on all his accomplishments. So did former Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez.
Actress Gwyneth Paltrow let Brady know she’s among the fans who adore the 45-year-old, commenting, “And WE LOVE YOU.”
Meanwhile, model Kate Hudson shared a lengthy comment, writing: “I know I can say this for my whole family, it’s been an honor to see such a phenomenal career. You have brought us all so much joy for so many years. Welcome to the next chapter, may it bring as many blessings as the last two decades,” along with a goat emoji.
JJ Watt, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year who recently announced his decision to hang up his cleats after 11 NFL seasons, shared, “Greatest of all time. No question, no debate.’
“It’s been an honor and a privilege,” added the defensive end of the ex-Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans, before poking fun at Brady a bit: “The new retired group meets every morning at 10 a.m. at the golf course. Drinks are on the go so bring your wallet.”
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson — a Super Bowl (XLVIII) former with the Seattle Seahawks — wrote, “Congratulations Tom,” while also sharing an emoji of a crown, indicating the 45-year-old is an American footballer -Royal house is. ‘Greetings to the greatest.’

The New England Patriots — the team Brady won six Super Bowl rings with (2019, 2015, 2017, 2005, 2004 and 2002) — thanked their former No. 12 for his contribution to the franchise’s 2001-2019 dynasty Twitter.
“Quite a ride indeed,” shared the NFL team’s social media account, along with a resurfaced tweet from Brady, who set off into the sunset on a double-decker Super Bowl parade bus in a Pats uniform. ‘Thanks again.’
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went out of their way to thank their starting quarterback for the past two years, sharing statements, highlights and a banner with Brady’s jersey number — the same one he wore in New England — on Twitter.
The caption for one of the NFL team’s many tributes to Brady read, “You’ll always be Tampa Tommy to us! #GoBucs.’

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who was involved in talks with the Dallas Cowboys before Jerry Jones decided not to offer him a deal, shared under Brady’s Instagram post, “Man. Thanks for everything brother.’
Rapper Diddy showed his appreciation for the 45-year-old quarterback by sharing a comment that included just a clasped hands emoji, which was synonymous with “thank you” in the social media world.
Von Miller, a linebacker for the Bills who never made it to play with Brady despite being a two-time Super Bowl champion himself, also commented, “Thanks!”
Teammate and Bill’s quarterback Josh Allen echoed the same comment under Brady’s retirement post on Instagram.





Salt Bae, current and former NFL players also congratulated Brady on his second and final retirement
Former teammate Logan Ryan, a safety guard for the Tampa Bay Buccaners, tweeted a picture of himself and the five-time Super Bowl MVP hugging, along with the caption, “I’ve seen greatness everyday for years and I’m grateful for that.” @TomBrady.”
“Thank you for pushing me mentally and physically every day this season to get back on the field,” said Ryan Jensen, a center for the Bucs, who suffered from a serious knee injury during most of the 2022-23 regular season suffered and was only activated in Tampa Bay’s wildcard loss to the Dallas Cowboys.
“I’m glad I could go to the field with you one last time! Enjoy your retirement, don’t haunt me around the dressing room too much. Love you man!’
