David De Gea has turned down a move to Inter Milan to replace Andre Onana after the Cameroonian moved to Old Trafford.
Man United finally confirmed the signing of Onana on Thursday, with the 27-year-old replacing De Gea as the club’s new first-choice goalkeeper.

Inter were ready to offer De Gea a salary of £4million a year but the 32-year-old is sticking to a deal worth around £9million with a salary of around £200,000 a week.
After De Gea rejected the club’s offer, Inter will now turn their attention to Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin and Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer.

It is understood that De Gea is interested in returning to La Liga and would prefer a return to his former club Atlético Madrid. However, his salary expectations could prove to be a stumbling block.

De Gea’s last United deal was worth over £52m over the four years – including signup fees and bonuses – and if De Gea wants to remain one of the highest paid goalkeepers in the world his only option could be a move to the Saudi Pro League.
Earlier this month he ended his United career after 12 years at Manchester, where he was named the club’s player of the year four times.
The Spain centre-back made 545 appearances for the club and holds the record for most goals conceded in a Manchester United goalkeeper shirt.

Talks with the Red Devils and De Gea continued until the expiration of his contract at Old Trafford, with a framework for a new deal reportedly having been agreed initially – on reduced financial terms.
However, after the new contract was not signed by boss Erik ten Hag, both sides decided to go their separate ways.
Instead, Ten Hag made it clear he wanted to be reunited with Onana at United, having previously worked together at Ajax. The Cameroon international has signed a deal worth £43.7million, completing a five-year deal with the club.
