David Warner’s six-year-old daughter showed no respect for the Prime Minister’s bowling and smashed him for four runs during a backyard game on New Year’s Day at Kirribilli House.

Anthony Albanese hosted at his official residence in Sydney, inviting Australia’s opening Test batsman, 36, with his wife Candice, seven, also 36, and their daughters – Ivy, seven, Indi, six, and Isla, three.

Mr Albanese came bowling from the south end of the manicured lawn and threw a delivery at the young Indi – who punched the Labor leader through the side and prompted her father to shout: ‘Come on, you should take it easy on him’.

The family first chatted with the Prime Minister at the iconic venue, with Jodie Haydon, Mr Albanese’s partner, crouching down to speak to the young girls.

Then they went outside on the lawn to enjoy the sun.

Candice also attended the game and looked stunning in an orange maxi dress.

After being strapped to the fence by the boy, Mr Albanese got the last laugh as he gave David – a staunch NRL fan of Rooster – a Rabbitohs hat as a gift.

He reluctantly accepted the gift but refused to try it on, to the Prime Minister’s laughter.

It comes after David paid a touching tribute to his wife after putting on a memorable show at the MCG in the annual Boxing Day cricket match, in which he scored 200 points.

He posted a series of photos on his Instagram along with Candice, expressing his love for her.

“No words can describe my love for you!! Thank you for everything you do for the girls and I,” he began.
