Davina McCall’s hairstylist Michael Douglas shares BTS video of her new haircut

She left fans divided on Sunday night as she returned to The Masked Singer UK with a brand new and long hairdo, complete with choppy bangs.

And now Davina McCall’s boyfriend, who is also her hairstylist, got a behind-the-scenes look at how he created the look for the show.

Sharing the process on Instagram, Michael Douglas explained that the new look was actually a £120 wig as he filmed the transformation for his partner, 55.

Michael started by dousing Davina’s hair with a water spray before applying some tame and shine cream to her raven locks.

He then tied the sleek curls into a low ponytail and cut it flat, away from her face.

The stylist tried it on himself and straightened the wig, which retails at Pak Cosmetics for £120, while it was on his head.

The wig was then placed on Davina’s head while her partner clipped the fringe to create the bespoke style for the show.

The TV personality reprized her role as a celebrity judge on the show alongside Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan.

But a far cry from her usual center-parted bob, the style left fans divided as series four of the weird and wonderful ITV show began.

She caught the inevitable attention of fans as she reviewed this year’s selection of heavily disguised contestants.

Taking to Twitter, an amused viewer shared a photo of Cox playing the precocious journalist with the caption, “Davina gives Scream 2 vibes.”

While a second joked: “Davina McCall may be a queen but even she can’t get away with clipping in bangs with a knife and fork…”

Davina recently admitted that two of this year’s 12 performers, all dressed in extravagant and outrageous costumes, managed to make her cry.

She said: “Absolutely – Jellyfish is an exceptional performer and made us all quite emotional.

“Rhino was also particularly emotional. There are people who are totally attracted to you.”

She added that the celebrity, who plays Rhino, is “massive and quite modest” and puts his “little hooves” together in one cute move.
