Details of Valorant Split changes for patch 6.0

Riot Games revealed several changes to the Valorant map Split in patch 6.0.

Split was already removed from the Competitive Queue and the Unrated Map Pools in Episode 5 Act I in favor of Pearl. The map has been criticized by the Valorant community for lacking attacking opportunities for both sides. Six months later, Riot Games revealed the full list of updates for Split ahead of its return to the competitive queue map pool in Patch 6.0.

Let’s take a look at the changes coming to Split in Valorant Patch 6.0:

a main

The A main room has been opened up a bit wider by the addition of a platform that goes all the way to the corner. That should give attacking players more lines of sight and angles to choose from, while defenders have to worry about multiple looks.

A tower

The steps of a tower when approaching from the defense side have been scaled down and rotated. Instead of two flights of stairs and a ramp in the middle pointing inward, it’s now a single set of sairs facing the window overlooking the B-site.

B side

The B location was opened under the B tower. The edge has been extended with an angled corner, giving players new angles to worry about on both offense and defense.

B tower

The most significant change to the B turret was the removal of the trash can that faced the defending side. Players should no longer be able to jump onto the box from that side, while players coming in from the middle can.

middle below

The latest changes affect Mid Bottom. Removed the ledge around the platform next to the steps, which should open up some jump points for players to create new angles and line of sight. There is also a new jump point at the bottom of the wall next to the steps.
