A mother went to a Facebook cleaning group to ask cleaning enthusiasts what the object is for.
“I just got a new Bosch dishwasher. Can someone please tell me what this is? The pamphlet isn’t helpful,’ she asked.
Many people said they had no idea what to do with it.
“It’s a thing that takes up space in my closet, I’ve never used it,” said one mom.
“Just put this thing in the shed, literally haven’t known for years what it was or where it came from,” added another.
The tool fits in the center back of the dishwasher (pictured) and is ideal for washing large items such as metal grease filters, baking trays or roasting pans
Luckily, several moms knew what the tool was actually used for, saying it was a “lifesaver.”
“I use this to clean my overtop grills or large trays or even griddles. It’s fantastic,” said one mother.
“He’s for big items. Take out the top draw. Place this in the middle where the hole is. Turn clockwise to lock. So if you’re washing big and tall items, this replaces the arm you lose, which is at the bottom of the top drawer,” added another.
Bosch says it only fits in dishwashers with the metered-out detergent dispenser in the center of the door, or with an assisted-metering detergent (pictured).
The “big item spray head” can be purchased as an accessory from Bosch for $20.
According to the brand, the accessory is ideal for washing large items such as metal grease filters, baking trays or roasters.
It is stronger than normal dishwasher spray arms and is therefore suitable for removing food residue and grease.
The tool only fits on the back of the dishwasher, but it only fits in dishwashers with a detergent dispenser in the middle of the door or with a detergent dispenser.
