Ditto Pokemon GO February 2023: How to Catch

Catching Ditto in Pokémon GO has proven incredibly difficult due to his unique method of catching. Some players may not even know how to face one as it is difficult to find in the wild.
It’s worth noting that Ditto can appear disguised as many other Pokémon, a trait it also shares in the main series games, but what complicates the task in Pokémon GO is that it’s impossible to know if it’s a Ditto trades until caught.
Ditto is #132 in the PokéDex, this number indicates it’s from the Generation I games set in Kanto. In any game set in Kanto, players have been able to witness that Ditto is very rare in most areas, and even if it is encountered, it can still be difficult to catch if players are not careful.
Coaches, mark your calendars! Here are next season’s #PokemonGOCommunityDay Events.

Starting today, February 7th, Ditto can be disguised as one of the following Pokémon:
If you catch enough of these Pokemon, players should see them transform into Ditto once caught.
An added layer of complexity is that Shiny Ditto is disguised as its normal form Pokémon, making the Shiny form a real utility item for dedicated players.
Thankfully, players shouldn’t have much trouble finding these Pokemon in the wild, but having to catch many of each just for the chance of catching a Ditto instead can be a tiring commitment.
In the past, Ditto has taken the form of Pokemon like Weedle, Ledyba, Purrloin, and many others, but for now, the list above is what players should be looking for.
Ditto was released in Pokémon GO on November 23, 2016 and is available today.
